Privacy Policy for Quote Scrap

"Quote Scrap" (the "Extension") is a Chrome extension that lets you save quotes you find while researching, together with their source. This policy explains what information the Extension handles.

Information Collected and Where It Is Stored

When you select "Save quote" from the right-click menu, the Extension stores:

• The selected text (the quote)
• The title and URL of the page you were viewing
• A Text Fragment URL that links directly back to the selected passage (when it can be generated)
• The date and time the quote was saved

All of this data is stored only in chrome.storage.local, inside your own browser.

No External Transmission

The Extension does not send any information to any external server. It contains no external API calls, analytics, advertising, or crash reporting of any kind.

No Sharing or Selling of Data

Since no data is collected by us, none is shared with or sold to third parties.

Permissions and Their Purpose

• contextMenus — to show "Save quote" in the right-click menu
• storage — to save quote data locally in your browser
• sidePanel — to display the list of saved quotes
• activeTab — to run only on the tab you just right-clicked, only at that moment (not a standing grant)
• scripting — to inject the logic that generates a link from your selection, into the tab you right-clicked

The Extension does not declare host_permissions and runs no persistent background content scripts.

Deleting Your Data

You can delete any saved quote individually from the side panel at any time. Uninstalling the Extension removes all stored data from your browser.
